Grand Central has appointed Charles Belcher to the company’s board.
In over 38 years within the rail industry Charles has been MD of a number of TOCs, the most recent being Virgin West Coast.
Charles Belcher said “I am very pleased to join Grand Central at this key point in the company’s development. Despite difficult beginnings Grand Central has earned the respect of the industry by focusing relentlessly on delivery and customer service. It has built strong relationships with the communities it serves and has justifiably won plaudits from passengers.”
Grand Central are planning to introduce a brand new ‘West Riding’ service from next May and are also exploring other opportunities to develop the business.
Charles is also a board member of TfL, a director of Cargo-D and deputy chairman of the Railway Ball Ltd, which helps raise funds for the Railway Children, a charity that helps children all over the world.
