Anthony Smith, Passenger Focus, Chief Executive said,

“Passengers can’t get enough of real-time information, provided it is up-to-date, accurate and consistent.  It’s unacceptable that at many smaller stations passengers have no idea whether their train is late, cancelled or already departed.

Cheap ways of sorting this out have been around for some time yet passengers are still waiting for the industry to deliver.  National Rail Enquiries has developed innovative ways of keeping passengers informed, but they have no marketing budget so most passengers don’t know about them.  Perhaps the time has come to make it easier for others to develop new ways of keeping passengers informed.”
